A day for some organised fun. We have booked a day out on Muri with Koka Lagoon Cruises.
I’m in it mostly for the snorkelling, the boys are in it mostly for the buffet lunch. Horses for courses I guess.
It starts down at Muri beach at 10am and we load up on to two glass bottomed boats. Tom is immediately curious about getting a look underwater. First thing is a cruise out past the islands to their dive spot out near the reef break. The entertainment is going non-stop, everyone is into it and they are pros at keeping everyone on the boat in the loop. Snorkel gear is supplied so we dive in and get amongst some very healthy sized blue trevallys. Some cool stuff to see but as we found yesterday there are other snorkeling spots in Raro which you can get to which are just as good.
Back on the boat and a cruise to one of the Muri islets for the much desired buffet lunch and show. The guys again show what pros they are. Lunch is pretty straightforward barbecue with the grilled fish the standout, super delicious. Plenty of food is up for grabs.
The guys put on a great, super interactive show that has everyone laughing, really entertaining. Music, coconut tree climbing, coconut opening, pareu tying, all the classics. Tour wraps up with more singing on the trip back. It’s 5 hours of non-stop entertainment, perfect for families. All the guys working there a clearly talented and very well drilled. Highly recommended. The boys all had a fantastic time, Tom really couldn’t keep his eyes off the drumming, was pretty lost in it (and eventually fell asleep to it), Max was laughing all the way through the show and Nate was obsessed with the coconut training to the point where Max and Nate took off at the end of the show to find their own to test out opening techniques on. A successful outing.
We exit slowly as we are all starting to get tired and via a drink stop at Ariki Adventures we head back to an afternoon at home catching up on writing, photos and. then slapping on a movie.
