The roosters crow early and constantly. It genuinely seems entirely unnecessary and I feel a letter to the local MP should be drafted. We begin the day with a long eye on fried chicken for dinner.

Day 1 – We’ve arrived (and we’re tired)
Ground hog day. Thanks to us traveling from a GMT+12 zone to a GMT-10 over the international dateline we get a do-over day for Saturday. This time in a 25-degree tropical island rather than a sleety 10 degree Tauranga.

There’s a general deep-seated anxiety that goes with being a cog in a family which is never organised.
