A drizzly day overhead makes for solemn walking, but not for long. Because we ticked off about 23 kilometres yesterday it’s only a 10km sojourn into St Alban.
Repacking our tents doesn’t take long and we set off into the fog. It’s an easy roll down the hill into St Alban and it takes us about 2 1/2 hours. It seems like a sleepy town but it has all the necessities and a pretty fantastic church. We decide to spend the night in a gîte to avoid the heavy rain due tonight.
It’s a bit weird as all of the gîtes we first check out are closed for some reason for a couple of days. Nobody has any answers for that so we end up in the central gîte for the night in a 10 bed dormitory. She’s a little rough, but everything we need and nothing we don’t.
We spend the afternoon going to the pharmacy (the blisters have started) and letting the boys loose on a local playground. Everyone seems happy with an easy day.
