Family Gap Year travel | Camino de Santiago Le Puy / Via Podiensis + Camino Frances
It’s a standard start to the day, milling around in the dark packing up tents, then collecting our supplies to get us through. Coffee and croissants for a nervous breakfast and a trip to the epicerie for a wild camp dinner later.

Walking again in the dew. It’s autumn and the weather is cool, over night the dew has settled heavily soaking our little tents to the core. Of course we are on the border with Spain so the sun starts beating down early and the temperature is on its way to 31. Hot again for our last full day in France.

Travelling deep into the bottom of France there are not many towns with shops to pass through so we have to spend a day self supported.

Slow start to the day as it sometimes takes hours to raise a 15 year old from their slumber. More time for pain au chocolats I suppose.
It wasn’t planned to be a rest day but waking up in the morning with super weary bodies means the choice is made. The campground is nice so that helps too.

The next morning we still feel really lucky with our gite choice, at Gite Le Halte we are inundated for breakfast with bread, cakes, madelines and coffee. Everyone is gee’d up.

Waking up to a dry day is very welcome. Makes the spirits stay high. We get to use a vending machine for fresh baguettes as the boulangerie isn’t open, Tom and Nate think this is the greatest invention that mankind has achieved. They may be right.
