Camino Day 32 – Lectoure to Le Romieu

September 15, 2019 by Mark McCondach

Back to road walking again out of Lectoure but then the going is easy. I think we have achieved peak baguette and cheese consumption as it’s wearing a bit thin. Having said that, it’s still completely delicious and it’s not the worst food to fall back on. French cuisine of the highest order.

Camino Day 31 – Miradoux to Lectoure

September 14, 2019 by Mark McCondach

It’s a nice trip from Miradoux as we aren’t walking on road so much as going through.

Camino Day 29 – Moissac to Espalais

September 12, 2019 by Mark McCondach

Staying at Ancien Carmel was such a special way to experience Moissac and something different for everyone. Whipping down the tents in a pretty slow time means we shouldn’t have a lot of time for coffee but Alissa’s habit knows no time pressure. Being in a city means there’s plenty of choice.

Camino Day 28 – Dufort-Lacapelette to Moissac

September 11, 2019 by Mark McCondach

Some days are harder to get moving than others, today is one of them, the kilometres must be catching up with us.

Camino Day 27 – Montlauzun to Dufort-Lacapelette

September 10, 2019 by Mark McCondach

Getting up in a warm gite rather than a freezing tent is a nice touch. After the boys absolutely deal to the buffet breakfast we begin walking with Maxim and Pascal, Alissa gets a long opportunity to chat in French with some locals which is pretty much her life’s ambition so it’s a good start.

Camino Day 26 – Lascabanes to Montlauzun

September 9, 2019 by Mark McCondach

A bitterly cold night was had by all. Autumn is giving us a little taste of what’s to come and Alissa and I are planning how to change and cope with the colder nights coming up. Not much sleep was had by us past about 4am.

Camino Day 25 – Cahors to Lascabanes

September 8, 2019 by Mark McCondach

Staying with Sophie in town has spoiled us with her proper beds and nice temperatures. It takes a mammoth effort to get out of bed and get going for the day. She makes us a little breakfast of cake and hot chocolate which is devoured readily.

Camino Day 24 – Vers to Cahors – Cele Valley

September 7, 2019 by Mark McCondach

Another good early day on the back of a cold night. Its early autumn now and its starting to make its presence known.

A short trip back south from Vers to rejoin the track to Cahors. The climb back up doesn’t seem too bad with fresh legs.
