Camino Day 17 – Livinhac le Haut to Figeac

August 31, 2019 by Mark McCondach

It’s clear as we walk into Livinhac town proper from our rough little campground that we should have pushed a little more and tried one of the gite in town.

Camino Day 16 – Conques to Livinhac le Haut

August 30, 2019 by Mark McCondach

Apparently it’s been a long, hot summer with heatwave after heatwave and today meets that standard. A hard climb out of Conques to start the day and we manage the 300m ascent out of town in a reasonable time before the heat really gets up.

Camino Day 15 – Conques rest day

August 29, 2019 by Mark McCondach

Conques is a sort of preserved medieval town on the side of a forested valley. Because it’s like walking into a Game of Thrones set we decide to spend the day here before carrying on.

Camino Day 14 – Golinhac to Conques

August 28, 2019 by Mark McCondach

Another roasting french day. We manage to get going early as it’s a bit of stretch to Conques.

Tom is hitting his stride so to speak and wants to spend most of his time out of the backpack and running. When he’s tired (and sometimes he can’t admit it but it happens) he goes in the backpack for a spell. Theres some road walking on this stage which is a bit frustrating for him as there’s no way to keep a 3 year old safe on them, but there’s enough track to keep him entertained.

Camino Day 13 – Estaing to Golinhac

August 27, 2019 by Mark McCondach

Today is a lucky day, it’s overcast so the sun isn’t trying to beat us into the earth.

Camino Day 12 – Espalion to Estaing

August 26, 2019 by Mark McCondach

It’s another hot day. We are on the backside of Espalion, it’s only about 15kms to Estraing from this point so it shouldn’t take too much in theory…

Camino Day 11 – St Chely d’Aubrac to Espalion

August 25, 2019 by Mark McCondach

Everyone is up to speed today, we’re getting pretty efficient at packing down our little Rhinowolf camping set up, so we set a lofty goal of getting to Espalion by the end of the day.

Camino Day 10 – Nasbinals to St Chely d’Aubrac

August 24, 2019 by Mark McCondach

Up at our gite at a reasonable time for a change we head out with a pain au chocolate for breakfast to eat on the way. The boulangerie in Nasbinals is very good so it’s not a bad way to start at all.
